A). Protozoans are rapidly swimming
around in the bile |
|
Flagellates of various genera can be involved |
|
If the fish have Hexamita, treat with:
Metronidazole. |
|
|
B). Large numbers of bacteria occur
in the bile and on the wall of the gallbladder |
|
Severe bacterial infection can occur in
Abdominal Dropsy and in other diseases as well |
|
Make up a medicated frozen food with
Doxycycline -or-
Kanamycin. Thaw
food and add 1/2 tsp. medication to every 4 oz. of feed.
Return food to freezer. After frozen, feed for 10 days. |

If mixing up for Koi feed, Use 2 teaspoons medication per pound
of Koi pellets. Add the medication to a spray bottle with
approx. 2oz. of water. Spray feed with entire contents of
bottle and let air dry. Feed for 10 - 20 days. |
C). Large immobile objects and small
crystalline structures are found in the gallbladder |

These are precursors to gallstones |
|
Examine the other organs. The crystals are
not the cause of the illness. |
